A typical exam takes, from the time you come in, to the time you leave, about 45 minutes.

So that no one is rushed, we allow one hour per patient.

We schedule on the hour, so when you call, please state the hour you want.

If your exam requires "contrast" or gadolinium, the exam time will be increased to about an hour and a half. The amount of contrast given depends on your weight, so please let us know approximately what you weigh (within 10 pounds).

The contrast is injected with a needle. Side effects are minimal, however, there are some people who get uncomfortable from it.

People with asthma should not be injected.

We schedule contrast exams in the afternoon.
